Let it sink in

Now the fact has sunken in, we can feel the presence of the little one in our thoughts, talks and recently at the dinner-table.

Initially the thought was that the bulge attracts too much attention. So let us layer it.
No hiding of the belly now, at work, with friends or at church.
Did I mentioned that, mom's T shirt now says "I love my bump"

Mini is perfecting the yawning & hiccups here:

3D Mini

This 3D rendering from the ultrasound waves was the best.
Mom says "Cutest sight I have ever seen, ... mini must be photo-shy"

Its already been a long way, from cherry to grapefruit to cantaloupe. 12 ounces. In two weeks mini will be mini-no-more , a whole pound.

Finally, we have the detailed ultrasound:

The Radiologist was happy with the anatomical result, for us it was the happiest day ! Thanking God for the healthy results.

On our first visit, they could not profile all the details, apparently mini was having her/his cards close to the chest. On the second visit, two weeks later, mini was in better mood. Here's another side profile, with a hand in view :

Should we be

Parenting jitters has kicked in already.
Here's few samples from our dilemma-list, Should we be:
- taking him/her to baseball/ballet classes or guitar/violin lessons
- searching for a least-tongue twisting indian name or biblical english name
- teach first words in malayalam or english. Tri-lingual will be great, but challenging.
- open a baby login in gmail or facebook
- buy a bouncy-seat or PackNPlay-station
- start saving for Pre-K or college फंड

well, we'll see

amazing !

Finally the flutter happened, last week, phew, we are almost sure that it was it. Now I tried with my ear on the belly waiting for the kick, ahaan, nope, mini must be really mini, for me to detect the motion.
Here's the line of the day from mom "enikku ellam week oru milestone madiriya." , aka "for me every week is a milestone". It indeed is. You don't realize it until you go through it. They say that the physical identity of the child is already expressed; even biometrics like fingerprints ..amazing.
