An Autumn run to remember
On a beautiful crisp October morning, we started on a unique adventure: Trek a new trail nearby, then to post a letter at Lexington center, burn some calories, targeting for 4 miles, learn some geography and to see what nature throws at us.
Here we are all pumped up, at our starting point, at Bowman school's backyard Dunback meadow, ready to conquer the world.
After crisscrossing Dunback meadow, we landed at Clarke school. There at the field, we paused, to thank the Lord for a safe September & October so far, and for this new middle school. Then at the wide open field, Kripa got some geography-lessons on maps and LatLong.
Then we headed towards the post box at the town center. We enjoyed the houses decorated in orange & yellow themes. The town center was buzz with Saturday morning routines, for e.g. joggers and walkers on the sidewalk, town residents posting letters & checks at the Clerks drop box. Heading back on mass ave we talked about plans for the rest of the day. Then we took a side-street across the SeasonFour store, thorough open backyard of Lexington Community Center and back through our favorite familiar inside-road to Bowman.
Here are some visuals, we captured along the run!
We saw this father and son duo, on the school field, sharpening their soccer skills.
What a creative Fall decoration, by these folks !
And we captured images of nature: leaves and worms along the way
To add to the motivation, we tried a mapping/sharing app, Strava. It turned out to be a nice loop, ~5 miles with 179ft elevation.
