thanksgiving
As we sit back & reflect today, on the blessings we have had, our hearts are overflowing with thanksgiving to our God. For baby Kripa after long waiting. For challenges that made our commitment stronger. For provisions through this year of economic recession. For time with our extended family, Vinney's dad, mom & brother. For a home. For friendships that grew stronger.
Our thanksgiving turkey is almost ready to come out. Now let us see how Kripa is keeping herself busy.

milestone m2
Kripa crossed the month 2 with flair. By the end of month two, she perfected her body cycle to respond to day & night (we think) and getting more engaged with the environment.
During day, she wakes herself up, and get engaged with the toys and colors around, cooing for no apparent reason. Oh not for long, before she remembers about the hunger pangs.
Her favorite nap time is after an arduous hair drying exercise after a full bath. Now the bathroom door opening, doesn't usually, wake her up.
Pediatric measures 13lb, 23 inches

sleepless in arlington
So Kripa switched few gears in last few days. First she switched preference from sleeping-in-the-crib to sleep-only-if-you-walk-and-sing-for-me. Now MadamK's preferred sleep position is belly down on Mom's chest and only when augmented with rocking motion. After she falls into what we think, is the deep sleep, and then, shhh, we move her quietly to the crib. Many times she would wake herself up within 20-30 mins. For reasons ranging from running tap water in the kitchen, to, pulling her own hair while asleep.
In nut shell, its sleepless in Arlington. But hey Kripa, you deserve some pampering. Watch out, after month 1, you are on drill-routine. Enjoy till then !!

first neighborhood walk
Ready for my first neighborhood walk
Started responding little bit to sounds & bright colors/contrasts
Ditched the crib and the swing, Loves the cuddling warmth & swinging rhythm of loving hands.
Slept through my first neighborhood walk.
Skin regeneration on the belly, hands & feet. That is probably causing the irritation aka the sudden fits of outburst.
More Changes: Less patient with delays in feeding etc, Lighter sleep, hence sleeping less.
Weight gain normal. At 9lb 3.2oz
Week 2 Finish line in view

O my Umbilical cord fell off during my wipe-clean session
Better control of hands. Learned to use my whole palm as indigenous pacifier
Visit to Lactation consultant Eleina
19oz formula in last 24 hrs
Congrats on first-week-bday Kripa
sep 17
I slept thro most of the day, just breaking for feeds
I am now the official center of attraction in the home
Learned to kick myself off moms hand with my feet
Grandma wants to keep me spic n span, so got another spunge bath
sep 16
Slept thro better part of the night: 1-4am
Actually I am getting too used to bottle now, so I cry like crazy when mom attempts to feed me.
Oh I emptied 8oz formula in last 14 hrs, breast milk is just not enough for me !
sep 15
Feeding spur
Pediatric visit 2, Gained 5% body weight, now at 8lb 12.6oz(3.98kg), Got 6oz formula in last 24 hrs
My first sneeze, first spunge bath
sep 14
First pediatric visit, Dr Gupta alarmed, 15% body weight loss, current @8lb 6oz
Doc says: She needs ~17 oz/day total feed.
Long(1.5hr) feeding sessions, leaving mom pretty sore
Swaddling really helps her sleep
